Add Swirl To Your Cake
from:Have you ever seen cakes with beautiful swirls in them? Aren't they marvelous to look at. Have you ever wondered how they did that? Of course you would think that it must take hours to prepare something that decorative.
Well my fellow cake lovers, it's not as hard as you may have imagine. To add this decoration to your next cake - plain or cheese - just follow these simple instructions.
Step 1) Follow the recipe for making your favorite cake or basic cheesecake. What really great about adding this design to your cake is that you can take your favorite recipes and add new flare to them. Just imagine what you can do with all those recipes you have laying around in your kitchen drawer.
Step 2) Pour 1/3 of the batter into another bowl. This is where the magic begins. This portion of your batter serves as the base for creating the swirl.
Step 3) Add your favorite "swirl" ingredient. You can add a nice design with just about any ingredient. Most are probably going to go with chocolate or some fruit flavor. For chocolate, melt it in a double boiler or the microwave and let it cool. After it cools add in the batter you removed from your main cake mix and be sure to mix thoroughly.
If you want to create a design with strawberry of blueberry, melt either strawberry or blueberry jelly and repeat as you would for the chocolate.
Step 4) Create the Swirl. The next thing you need to is pour the untouched mix into the pan. After that, spoon the mix into about 5 to 8 puddles on the cake. And for the final step, take a butter knife and swirl each puddle throughout the cake batter.
Easy, huh? Never again do you have an excuse for not having an exciting cake. Just by taking some of your regular cake mix out and adding one of favorite sweets, you can create something totally new.
